Starting on the right is the new Imperial IPA ominously dubbed THE KRAKEN. This beer is ranked as the fifth highest in the world for its IBU count sitting at a staggering 1254 IBU's! I'm not sure if the human palate can comprehend that, but boy am I looking forward to it. There are only fourty of these boys doing their rounds so hurry, but make sure not to take your shoe-loving girlfriend with as she might not be too happy about the price tag...
Next up is another limited edition batch Russian Imperial Stout. The recommendation that comes with this one to stash it away somewhere safe for about 10 to 12 months for it to fully mature. Seeing as this is a 2013 vintage it is exactly what I am going to do with it.
The Champions Breakfast beer is a new collaboration between Deluxe Coffeworks and Triggerfish sporting around 20-odd kilos of espresso in the 400 liter batch. It comes with fair warning not to enjoy this beverage late in the evening as it is going to keep you kicking like a mule for a couple of hours. Needles to say a pint I am looking forward to share with my lady - who manages a coffee spot in town - and my mate who is one of the biggest coffee snobs I know.
On the very left is a brand new beer from a brand new brewery in East London which might soon feature at Roeland. I was fortunate enough to get this one as a sneak peak. Hopefully I get to crack these chaps soon!
